No reports lately....

It is May 2011.  Only two books have been found, that I know of.  I shall join them floating around out in the world-- plans to travel to Australia. Maybe I will find one over there or at least disperse a few more. The original count was 50, do I hear 75?

No. 5

A little Holiday Cheer!
I was contacted today that book Number 5 was found in Houston, TX.  I am located in Houston but, still get a big grin hearing that someone found it and has been enjoying it.  She told me it sits at her desk at work and others notice it and comment.  So glad she contacted me, thank you!

6 Months Ago...Where Oh Where Can They Be?

Six months ago, with help of friends and family, 50 books were released out into the world.
Only one has be found and "reported."

I don't think of them everyday, but it is the Holiday Season and you miss people and wonder where they are.  Well, I am wondering about the 49 books.  Have they been found?  Have they been collected into new homes?  Have they been thrown away?  Have they been tucked in a spot all this time?

Wherever they may be, I am wishing the books and "finders" a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

High on a Mountain Top

One never knows what will happen when you put something out into the world.
Here is a shot of one of the books on top of Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh.
This lone little book found it's way to a mountain top in Scotland to be found by a hiker or someone passing through.

No. 27

Book No. 27 was found in London, England!
Contacted: 9/19/2010

In June 2010, I started a series of small works on paper in the format of an accordion book.  Each piece is then placed in a public area, and its final destination is up to the finder.  The idea for this small project has been with me for years. I see it as a study in the possibility of dissemination and hopefully correspondence, and an unconventional way to show my work.

I promised myself if a book was found and was contacted that I would start a blog about the project and so it begins!

There are 50 books that have been or are being dispersed to a number of cities and countries. To name a few: Atlanta, Houston, New York City, New Orleans, Canada, Scotland, England and others.  And the interesting part is the books migrate even from their original point of being placed--so who knows where they will all end up!
